Gerew Multimedia was founded in March of 2005 to provide a simple and fair solution to business needs. It has continued to grow throughout the years in terms of of services offered and quality. Gerew Multimedia now provide solutions for website design, graphic design, and software application design.

Joe Gerew

Bio:

Joe was born in Brockport, NY in 1981. After graduating in 1999, Joe was accepted to the Rochester Institute of Technology for a degree in Art. Unable to attend, Joe joined the United States Military as an Intelligence Analyst. Serving from 2000 through 2004, Joe spent time across the United States and the world including Germany and Bulgaria. Shortly after leaving the service in 2004, Joe married and moved to Thousand Oaks, CA. In 2005, Joe began attending the California Lutheran University for a degree in Computer Science. In March of 2005 he begain Gerew Multimedia. Joe is currently finishing his degree and holding a 3.9 average.

Website Design:

Joe was first introduced to the world of web design while working as a Desktop Technician in 2005. He showed a high aptitude and understanding of the HTML language and within a month, launched his first website, Gerew Multimedia. Combining his skills in art and graphic design, Joe has since launched 3 full websites. He has also enhanced Gerew Multimedia to full compliance with XHTML and CSS standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3Org). Some examples can be viewed here.

Graphic Design:

Near the end of his High School years, Joe was introduced to graphic design and was instructed on the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Even before this, Joe had been extending his artistic talents to digital media by using Corel Draw and even drawing, pixel by pixel, in Microsoft Paint. Joe increased his study and use of the Adobe tools while in the Army, using them to design several miliary unit t-shirts, murals, and a variety of other products. One of Gerew Multimedia’s first clients, The Highest Account, commisioned Joe to design their record label and band logos. Joe also contributed to several of their concert fliers. Software Application:

While working as an Intelligence Analyst, Joe had many duties to perform that seemed repetetive and cumbersome. Joe knew there had to be a better way. He created his first database in 2001 which stored and tracked the personal information for over 720 personnel. Through the years, Joe increased his knowledge of database design, using databases throughout his career. In 2005, Joe began to get more deeply involved databases, using Microsoft#8217;s Visual Basic platform. Joe soon began attending California Luteran University as a Computer Science major. He also soon found employment as a software developer, programming in Java, PL/SQL, SQR, PHP, and others. Joe continues to increase his knowledge and expand his capabilities. Several of his school projects have been incorporated as exceptional student examples and has recieved acknowledgement from the University#8217;s president. Some examples can be viewed here.

Traditional Art:

Joe has been involved in the arts for 15 years. He was an exemplary art student during my High School years in Brockport, NY earning many awards including the Silver Key in painting at the 1998 Scholastic Art Show and the Best Portfolio Award in 1999. He was also involved in the Rochester High Falls Art Gallery’s first ever student show and was the only student selected from Brockport and was a favorite at the show known as “Students Storm the Wall”

Joe was accepted to the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Institute of the Arts and was ranked at the top of his incoming class. The Rochester Institute of Technology also selected his portfolio to promote the Art Institute in New York City.

In June of 1999, Joe hosted “The Big Red Button” his first solo art show in Brockport, NY. The show opened to rave reviews.

Joe returned to the High Falls Art Gallery for “16x20” where he was one of the youngest artists involved in the show. Following “16x20” he was asked to be part of “100 Paintings on the Wall” the Gallery’s next art show featuring the citys top 100 artists. Some examples can be viewed here and here.
